Both the Football Association and London Underground are celebrating their 150th anniversary this year. The Metropolitan Railway, the oldest of the Underground, opened to the public on January 10, 1863. The FA was formed on October 26, 1863, at the Freemasons’ Tavern, near Holborn tube.
To commemorate this historic moment, they worked together to create a new Tube map.

Every single station of the 367 that form the Tube, Docklands Light Railway and Overground, has been renamed after one of the greatest players or managers from the English Premier League.
But they are not only random names. Each of the 14 lines holds an specific category.
Obviously, the ex-England and Liverpool striker Michael Owen, FA150 ambassador and former England international, is very excited to participate in this project. He thinks "the football-themed Tube map is a great way to celebrate the 150th anniversary of both the London Underground and the Football Association" and he is "absolutely delighted to be included at Oxford Circus."
