Bonfire night

Today we are celebrating one of the most important festivities in the UK and some countries of the Commonwealth. Since the Gunpowder Plot, which took place on 1605, it is a tradition to commemorate the Guy Fawkes failure with fireworks displays.

The shows started last weekend but today, and the rest of the week, we are going to be delighted with more bonfires and fireworks performances.

But the Bonfire night is not only fun. In London, the fire fighting services triple their calls on this night. And, according with an Oxford study developed on 1994, after Guy Fawkes' Night there is a four-fold increase in dioxin and furan concentration in the air.
