It's a boy!

It was yesterday, at 16.24, when the third in line to the UK throne was born. The baby boy weighed 8lb 6oz (around 3.8 kilograms).

The good news were shared, in the first place, by the Town Crier.

But the formal announcement of the royal birth arrived when the official notification was placed on an easel at Buckingham Palace.

And, obviously, the congratulations arrived soon.

The Honourable Artillery Company fired their 62-gun salute from Tower Wharf at the Tower of London (the basic 21 round, plus 20 because the Tower is a Royal Palace and Fortress, plus another 21 "for the City of London") and 41 rounds at Green Park (21 rounds and 20 more were added because it is a royal park.) And this morning, in Buckingham Palace, was the moment for the music band.

But the celebrations weren't only in London, where important monuments adopted a patriotic white, blue and red colour. Landmarks and skylines around the world were lit up in blue to welcome the arrival of the future King.

William's wedding, the Golden Jubilee, the Olympic Games and a royal born. This is, without any doubt, a good moment for the British Royal Family.
