Ming dynasty at British Museum

The porcelain in just de beginning...

Even though the Ming dynasty ruled China for 276 years, The British Museum exposition will concentrate on the Ming half-century (between AD 1400 and 1450).

Zhū Yuánzhāng, also known as Hongwu Emperor, was the founder of one the most relevant Chinese dynasties and with him the show starts.

After the Jianwen Emperor period, whose reign did not last long, arrived the "Perpetual Happiness" or Yongle era with the third emperor of the Ming Dynasty. His most ambitious plans were to move the capital from Nanjing to Beijing and to build the most impressive imperial palace ever seen, the Forbidden City.

The exposition will feature spectacular paintings, jewellery, sculptures, books and, of course, porcelain. Amazing collections of Chinese objects, some of them recently discovered, brought from all around the globe and displayed all together in one space.

From the 18th of September until the 5th of January.

Don't miss it!
